Vocabulary Review #6


1.   identity theft – people steal your ID (social security number and birthdate)

2.   balance- (n)how much money you have in the bank (checking account or savings account).

3.   balance – (v) money going out = money coming in

4.   overdraft – you spend more than you have in your checking account.

5.   china – very nice dishes, plates, cups, etc.

6.   China – a large country in Asia.

7.   forbid -  prohibit.  Someone or Something (country) won’t allow you to do something.

8.   make clear – explain something so people can understand

9.   awkward – a difficult thing or action or  situation, strange

10.                keep track of – checking, managing, paying attention to,  
             keeping a record of

11.                orphanchildren with no parents
             (usually the parents are dead.)

12.                Let’s face it – to tell the truth

13.                to come into money – inherit or win or find a lot of money

14.                to pay back – to return money

15.                Maiden name – a woman’s name before married.

16.                computer hack – someone attacks or gets information from your 
                     computer
